República Dominicana

Wedding Season has officially started. Recently Jackie and I jumped on plane to the Caribbean... more specifically to the Dominican Republic. This was both our first trips to the Dominican. We had no idea what to expect and were extremely excited to explore and experience something new.

We were invited down by Kelby and April to celebrate their wedding and spend time with friends that I grew up with. It had been a couple of years since I had last saw everyone and felt like a reunion of sorts.

The wedding and all of the festivities took place at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana. It's an all inclusive resort on the eastern shore of the Dominican. It had everything anyone could possibly want in a beach resort vacation. Unlimited booze, a plethora of pools, a perfect white sand beach, all the food you could eat, and everything else you could possibly want.

Jackie and I spent as much time as possible on the beach at the resort and it was absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. I love the beach, and the beauty of the beach in Punta Cana ranks as one of the best I have been to.

We tried to relax as much as possible. Our schedules had finally worked out to take a real vacation and the resort gifted us a lot of resort credit when we arrived, (I think because we are awesome) and we decided to take full advantage of the spa with a couple massages and the hydro therapy that was raved about.

SIDE NOTE: Jackie thought that couples massage meant we massaged each other. I am not sure where she got that idea but we did get a couples massage and we did not massage each other during this time.

The Dominican wasn't all sunsets and ocean breezes and finally slapped me back to reality when it gave me some stomach problems that tested the boundaries of Jackie and I’s relationship with me in the bathroom all night long. Even with that, the Punta Cana trip was an amazing experience that wont soon be forgotten.
